ORIENTATION & DISTRIBUTION OF UP GRADATION FLY SHUTTLE LOOM

An inauguration ceremony for the up-gradation of fly shuttle looms under the National Handloom Development Programme (NHDP) , Ministry of Textiles, Government of Manipur for cluster development in the Ukhrul and Kamjong districts of Manipur  was organized by the UDHAHCOF in partnership with four CDPs( Ukhrul,Kamjong,Phungyar and LM block ) in the Ukhrul and Kamjong districts on Saturday, January 14th, 2023, at 2pm.

The chief guest for the ceremony was E Jeeten Singh, and the guests of honor were AS Shinmi, Headman of Tashar Village, M Ibohal, and VS Sita. The event aimed to raise awareness about the benefits of the up-graded fly shuttle looms and the importance of cluster development for the handloom industry in the region.

The up-graded fly shuttle looms are part of the National Handloom Development Programme (NHDP), which aims to modernize and improve the handloom sector in India. The programme is being implemented by the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, with the aim of increasing productivity, improving the quality of handloom products, and enhancing the livelihoods of handloom weavers.

The ceremony was a success, with a large turnout of weavers, handloom entrepreneurs, and other stakeholders from the region. The up-graded fly shuttle looms were demonstrated to the attendees, and there were also presentations on the benefits of the cluster development programme and the potential for growth in the handloom sector in the region. The Chief Guest and Guests of Honor also addressed the gathering and emphasized on the importance of the program for the development of the handloom sector in the region.
